Digital Oral History Archivist (DOHA) Program

The 1947 Partition Archive presently offers three training programs in the field of digital oral history archiving (or, 'DOHA' for short) for students currently enrolled and authorized in the United States. This unique and competitive program offers hands on experience and training in the emerging modern field of digital archiving for students aspiring towards a career in the preservation fields:

  • Junior Internships Program for high school and beginning undergraduate college students. This is a pilot program made possible with support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This is a 6 month long, part time, remote internship program for currently enrolled students.
  • Advanced College Internships Program for upper division college students.  This program is made possible with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This is a 6 month long, part time, remote internship program for currently enrolled students.
  • Professional Apprenticeships for graduate students. This program is made possible with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This is a full time, one year commitment.
  • Community Internships are volunteer positions open to community members of all ages and professional levels. This 6-month part-time competitive position requires taking a digital skills test and is offered on a merit basis. Space is very limited..
